Captains for Kids is a charity organization coordinating a fun and free day on the water for kids with illnesses and special needs.
We are honored to participate in the Captain for Kids event every September on Destin Harbor.
Boat excursion companies in Destin donate their vessel and crew for this special day on the water where kids can experience fishing charters, sailing excursions, parasailing rides, and dolphin cruises with their family.
The 2022 Captains for Kids event took place on Saturday, September 10th. Pelican Adventures took kids fishing on our Vera Marie boat for this years event.
There was rainy and stormy weather in the days leading up to the event but luckily it cleared up just in time. The participating kids and their families had so much fun and caught a lot of fish!
We also had a dolphin cruise excursion for the Captains for Kids event onboard our Anticipation boat.
We are thrilled to be a part of this event every year. This is a special day where the Destin tour and fishing boats come together to show these kids a great time on the water.
Families of special needs children have struggles we can only try to understand, but our hope is that this is a day of fun and relaxation where they can relax and enjoy being together as a family. We try to make this a day that is worry free and full of great memories for everyone involved!
