King Mackerel are hitting the docks at Pelican Adventures in Destin. Kingfish are one of the most targeted species deep sea fishing the panhandle and relatively easy to catch. King Mackerel are caught throughout the year but run a lot heavier late August through early November depending on the conditions.
King Mackerel put up a pretty good fight and a lot of fun to land in the boat. Usually caught trolling and sometimes caught bottom fishing and usually swimming in schools so likely to land a few! Kings feed throughout the day and can be found between 20 ft and 200 ft in the Gulf of Mexico. They tend to be found near reefs, natural bottom, wrecks, and FADS.
Pelican Adventures is located on Destin Harbor and offers all types of fishing, inshore and offshore along the Emerald Coast. Deep-sea fishing charters are booked year-round on private fishing trips, shared group charters and party boat fishing. Give us a call to ‘hook’ you up! Call (850) 650-3825 or book online here.
